Lutron makes the dimmers, the keypads, the shades and the software. What it does not make is the decision about which button does what, how many scenes a room needs, or where the light should land at seven in the evening. That is drawn before anything is installed, and it is the part you live with.
What a Lutron system covers.
Dimming that holds its colour all the way down, keypads engraved for the room they are in rather than the circuit they control, and scenes set on site at the hour they are meant for — not guessed at from a laptop.
Light
Motorised shades aligned so a wall of them moves as one, hemmed for the window rather than the catalogue, and set to track the sun rather than a clock you will override by March.
Shades
One keypad by the door that does the four things you actually do, instead of nine buttons nobody can name. A lighting system disappears when the layout is right and announces itself when it isn’t.
Keypads and control
Centralised panels where the house suits one and wired dimmers where it doesn’t, loads calculated per circuit, neutral runs planned with the electrician before the drywall goes on. This is the part that cannot be fixed later.

If a brand offers a certification, we go and get it.
That is the rule for every brand we carry, and on Lutron we have gone to the end of the line: trained and certified through Ketra and Palladiom, the top of Lutron’s residential portfolio. Neither is sold over a counter — Lutron releases Ketra only through qualified dealers, and Palladiom comes with the dealer tier that also carries HomeWorks. The RadioRA 3 programming software is gated the same way, behind a qualification course and an exam.

Those two are where lighting stops being a control system and becomes part of the architecture. Ketra follows the black body curve instead of jumping between presets, so the light moves the way daylight moves and dims to amber the way an incandescent lamp did. Palladiom is the half you see — milled and hand-finished brackets, stamped keypads, shades engineered so the mechanics disappear. Neither forgives a rushed design, and both are drawn before the walls close.
