Two houses can hold identical Control4 hardware and feel nothing alike. What separates them is the programming — which keypad does what, what a room does when you walk into it, what happens at eleven at night when you press one button on the way to bed. None of that appears in a proposal. All of it shows up every day afterwards.
What a Control4 system covers.
Keypads laid out and engraved so the right button is where your hand already goes. Centralized lighting panels where the house suits one, wired dimmers where it doesn't, and shades that track the sun rather than a timer you will switch off within a month.
Lighting and shades
Sources that wake in the right order without a second remote. Kaleidescape, streaming and broadcast each reaching the room they belong in, at a level the room was actually tuned for.
Audio and video
Thermostats, cameras, locks and the alarm brought onto the same screen as everything else — one interface instead of five apps, and one company accountable for all of it.
Climate, security and access
Every Control4 system lives on the network, so the network gets designed first — wired backhaul, access points placed for coverage rather than convenience, and the house, the guests and the equipment kept apart. Most "Control4 problems" are network problems.

If a brand offers a certification, we go and get it.
That is the rule for every brand we carry, not a special case for Control4. Where a manufacturer publishes a certification track, someone here sits it. It is the cheapest way to find out what a system can actually do before we specify it in a house rather than after.
On Control4 that has meant four: Certified Automation Programmer, Certified Tech II Programmer, Certified Centralized Lighting, and Pakedge Certified Network Engineer. They map almost exactly onto the four things that go wrong in a system built badly — the programming, the service work, the lighting panel and the network. The person who will program your system has passed all four.
